National Science Foundation CCLI Grant, NSF 08-546, Role: Co-PI, (with Hazel Marie, Gary Walker, and Jay Kerns), 07/31/2009-07/31/2011, Course, Curriculum and Laboratory Improvement. Develop course that will bring together students and faculty from mechanical engineering and biological sciences to study issues involved in the engineering of connective tissues, and encourage and stimulate participation by students from diverse gender, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

FERPCBM Grant, Ohio Department of Education, Role: Project Evaluator; PI: Pollack, David, 09/01/06-08/31/09, Far East Regional Partnership for Conceptually Based Mathematics. This project utilizes a conceptual approach to develop deep content knowledge at a level appropriate for the teacher while modeling activities appropriate for all students.

University Research Council Grant, YSU, 08-09, Role: PI, Investigation of Inhalants Use and Gateway Drug Hypothesis. The goal of the project was to investigate the utility of the variable Age of Drug Use at First time, especially the age of inhalant use at first-time.

University Research Council Grant, YSU, 07-08, Role: PI, Forest Ecotourism Expenditure Analysis. The goal of the project was to analyze individual consumption behavior associated with forest ecotourism activities in Taiwan.

IPRP Research Award, NEOUCOM, 06-07, Role: Co-PI, (with Ding, Kele), Age of First Time Inhalant Use and Its Correlation to the Use of Other Drugs. The study intended to investigate the utility of the variable age of first-time drug use, especially first-time inhalant use, via a secondary data analysis by using data collected by the National Survey on Drug Use and Health. The study also intends to develop a data collection protocol for further investigation.

University Research Council Grant, YSU, 06-07, Role: PI, Eco-label Product Purchasing Behavior Analysis. The goal of the project was to identify significant factors that affect eco-label product purchasing behavior.

University Research Council Grant, YSU, 05-06, Role: PI, An Empirical Study on Environmental Ethics.  The goal of this project was to provide insight into the understandings of public preferences of environmental ethics that can be used to frame alternatives and scenarios for natural resource management and nature-based tourism development.

University Research Council Grant, YSU, 04-05, Role: PI, Cross-Straight Relation Between China and Taiwan.   The goal of the project was to understand public’s opinion on the relation between China and Taiwan.
